Creating custum skins

Right now since milkshape is messing up on me, i think i will start to do some custum skins. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions or any tutorials you know of that would help out. Thanks a bunch.

I would also like to know this so I can slap some new cammo's on the models and such. I usually do any photoshop tutorial out there like on phong.com please post any tuts.
