I've been playing with the Max 9 demo after seeing some of the new stuff featured on the discreet site like animation layers.
However none of the existing SMD exporters/importers for Max 6,7,8 work with it so I wrote my own! :D
I've tested it as best I can but nothing beats real world examples so I wondered if anyone out there making models or doing anims for Source with Max 9 would give my SMD exporter a go?
I've tried to code in the features I need so this is what it's got/does:
* Exports reference and sequence SMDs.
* Works with Standard or Multi/Sub-Object materials.
* Export whole or sub-range of an animation.
* Export animation reversed.
* Works with Skin or Physique modifiers.
Theres some other funky stuff going on internally, like automatically handling mirrored meshes, etc.
This isn't the SDK source code compiled for Max 9 - I've written it from scratch using the 3DXI interface (if you really need to know that).
