Materials that cannot use refract

I'm working on some nice refracting blood just like my watersplashes.
But it seems that it won't work.

It might be because of it's defined as decal.
I'll mess around with it but don't count on it that you will see refracting blood in dod.
I know it sucks bigtime.

Also I promised to release my refracting scope but that won't happen.
I just discovered that I was refused to join a server who seemed to force consistency for that material unfortunately.

I'm not sure if it counts for all servers though.
Or it might be a global fix for dod.

But either way, it just sucks.
It looks so d*mn good!


EDIT:

I might have done something wrong though.
Now I think of it, the blood I " refracted" that won't show propperly is what is on a surface.
I think I forgot to do the blood "puffs" so there is still hope.

I' ll keep you updated.

I think you'll find it's because the contistency check only allows VertexlitGeneric textures on models. The refract shader would trip the check hence you getting dumped.

Whoopsydaisy.

Why do I look at decals for blood puffs....(bangs head).
It's in effects ofcourse.

So this should work, hope to get screenshots very soon, im on it now!

EDIT:

This looks crappy I know.
It needs a red tint, and more tweaking.

But I wanted to show you the first results ;)

may be a little too much blood, but its hard to say without the blood being red.
yet very interesting stuff! :hamster:

Make it small and red. should be more of a speckled cloud than spray
