Since I did dust I figured may as well do dust2. This map was done for sunlit games league play, but plays fine on a pub server. 15 mb bsp maybe 7 mb bzipped all files in bsp, overview, no hdr, spawn protection, 32 players, framerates good to excellent. de_dust2 belongs to valve and I take no credit for any of this map. Enjoy.

Alot have asked for det versions of both dust and dust2. Might play ok, maybe put it on a 5 minute timer or something. If I can get some free time I will give it a shot.

I think it would be very successful Propaganda, good luck with it. ;)

This is how one should build "orange" maps...simple easy deathmatch/flag maps set in an environment that at least passes for the era.

Agreed, without the "orange" dev texture though (then it's not an orange_arena_towers_train_1337 map anymore though). Simple layout maps don't have to look bad and can run some high framerates.

After looking at the dust and dust2 maps a bit, they are suprisingly simplistic brushwork with very basic layouts. Still fun to play in dod, atleast I think so. I was most suprised by the texture work as far as alignment as it was a bit sloppy, I doubt these maps took more then a week to make, maybe they used the original dust brushwork, I don't know. It took me a total of about 5 hours to convert each map, which in mapping time isn't alot. The turtle rock maps are alot more detailed and complex, and use alot more models. As far as valve mappers, most the talent lies in the dod team although I have no idea who did the first cs to cs source conversions (dust, italy, aztec etc).

Once again dust and dust2 belong to valve and I take absolutely no credit for either of these dod versions.

nice work, propaganda -- any plans to convert dod_Isernia?
I know a few COJ'ers that would welcome it!

Hey Dradz, Isernia wasn't my map.

My maps from 1.3

expire
propaganda
freeze
wall
desperation
thaw

and umm a couple others, I forget (alcohol induced memory problems).

I lost all the original rmf files for these maps unfortunately.

If I do keep dod mapping, my next project is going to be a source version of propaganda
