Dod-federation will be hosting a back to back playtest of two maps this saturday 20th at 9 PM PST on the CoJ server:
CoJ DoD:S FF Server
IP: 205.217.155.244:27016
Dogsector is a beach map, quite reknowned by now for its gorgeous looks and impressive details. It's nearing completion and needs some more fine tuning before it's released to the public
Cherbourg is the first Source remake of one of the most popular dod maps from older days. This will be the first public test and will probably be a very intense one, with lots of things to test out.
Download links will be provided on the dod federation forums on saturday prior to the test, so don't miss out :)

Interesting and excellent news! Will UK players be ok to attend the test, obviously if ping becomes an issue then I can bug out.

Pings will never be reason for dismissal

is the custom content lock going to be enabled or disabled?
(this was an issue once before)

custom content client-side? Should not be an issue on COJ.
To download the map(s), you'll need to be a registered user at DoD:F.

Wile means "Is the server going to allow custom content". This was an issue on a different server before. I'm not sure about CoJ, but Dradz can tell you more about this.
I asked all dod-f servers to allow custom content from now on, during tests.

I went onto the posted IP for a quick ping gauge and there was no problem with custom content client side.

Both links are now available in this thread:

Registration required, just so we can keep in touch with all the guys at the playtest. If you haven't registered on the fed, now is the moment to do so :)
Please remember never to share these links and those maps outside of tonight's playtest, these maps are tested because they're not released yet, and it's not up to you to decide when they should.
Thanks and have fun !

I might not be able to play tonight, but I'm at least registering. I've always wanted to participate in these tests.

Dogsector is HUGE...great mapping work too (bunkers and terrain on the bluff are really top notch) but man...it's not suitable for regular DoD play...it will play great for stuff like ViE and any of the servers that like one map 24/7 but for the stndard 8x8 game you can go 5-10 min without seeing anyone...especially if you get lost in the bunkers or the back area of the map. It really feels like the real-deal...which isn't necessarily always compatible with real gameplay. There are at least three maps in this pup...Beach, bunkers, small village.
I'll bet it would be fun to try it 16x16

Is there a way to "cut the map in half"? Meaning make it so that both sides play the beach part of the map, then, when that's capped out, the spawns shift and they play the back half?

...advancing/retreating spawns are easily doable with teleporters.
