How a "simple" idea can take so many hours....

Anyway I hope you like the result, but remember it's WIP.
- The terminator head part needs to be a higher resolution.
- Tweak the exponent parts, normalmap, normalalpha.

Not sure if selfilumination is possible with a player model and/or phong though....if it IS possible I got some ideas :P

Hope you like it so far ;)

Thoroughly excellent work sir!!

Definitely helps with the overall robotic appearance of the dod:S player models!
Can you make a blood impact sprite that reveals bits of metal?

the skin damage looks good, just like the movies, which to me is awesome

but yes a higher res endoskeleton would help

Really nice work, as you said the steel skull is too low res, cant wait to see it finished

self-illumination is possible with HL2, not sure about DOD.... never tried it.

Study the setup for the Combine soldiers to see how it's done

I was jhust thinking, i would love to see some painskins made from your flesh texture there, isn't it just as easy as replacing a decal? i know it would look odd on the cloth but on the skin it would look pretty sick

That's a good idea, I'll keep it in mind!

Wile just saved me some work to look for one hires, thanks mate!

Another Idea what I had in mind for a long time is having a Terminator Plasmarifle replace the Bar or Thompson.
It is definately not realistic but I just want to see how it would look shoothing that rifle in a game.

This might be a oportunity to work on it, but......I still don't know exactly how to import the model in the game.

- It's not unwrapped yet
- Needs to be exported to DODS player view and world model.
- Needs to be animated

Just the basic stuff though, but if there is someone who'd like to do that, I'd appreciate it, otherwise explane how to do this and I might give it a go.

Not sure if Milennia is reading this but if he wants I'll give him the job of skinning that baby.

Bit old topic but just curious as to wether you had considered a full blown terminator endo skeleton model too as im sure im not the only one who would want it - i know skinning has its limits but it cant look that bad, can it ?

Not sure what you mean.
You like to see a endo SKELETON in dod, or just the "human" player with more pieces of flesh and cloth damage so you can see more of the endoskeleton?

A full blown endo skeleton - either skinned over the top of the default player (might look a bit funny) or a new model.

Could even dirty it up a bit too incase the shiny steel stands out too much over long ranges :D

Well as far as I know you can't replace player models.
