I want to request a single white rectangular pad to replace all my weapons. And all my polygons to be replaced with white and black pixels. And my 3D sound with a single 1 bit mono sound. And the name of the game to be changed to Pong.

What Maxey is trying to say is even if it were done, it'd look like crap.

Yeah, I mean it's almost 2007! The more polygons the better!

He may be asking because the DoD:S models look bloated and fat. Unfortunately, thats the source engine. If you took the 1.3 models, they'd still come out looking fat.

I thought weapon models were allowed.

They are...but we're not talking about weapon models.
Wait ...is he talking about player or weapon models?
EDIT: If he's talking about weapon models, they'd still look like crap because of 1.3's lower resolution textures.

Yeah...you'd just have low res low poly fat models.

the art style of the old weapons was sweet, if you guys cant appreciate that then your not true dod players.
who cares if the new dod models have more polygons, i find the art style lacking a certain look that the older ones had.

Yeah, you're right, I'm not a true dod player because I don't share the same taste for the old weapon models as you...

Look at the texture sizes of old versions of DoD, then look at the texture sizes of DoD:S.
You know full well it won't turn out good, jaboo, and that's what the original poster is wanting.

i think it would turn out just fine for my liking. i dont care too much about super dee duper high polys and 2048 x 2048 texture sizes. usually its a waste half the time and alot of the custom releases release huge texture sizes which are not needed what so ever.
and btw dod 1.3 models look alright in source as i have played them on source. they look alot better on it than in 1.3

nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
i like it more than the current custom mp40 model i am using atm for dod source.

2048x2048 is a waste on most guns in DoD:S ..The only things that are that size in DoD:S that I use are the Garand & K98 models and player models.
EDIT:
And according to Wile E., there is no performance loss (on his old card, a 9700pro) between 1024 and 2048 textures on default DoD:S models.

exactly and 512 still looks decent in source. and as well the maps look fine because they are skinned mainly on more than 1 512 map.
they look perfectly fine in source and i infact like them for their dull quality :D
EDIT: there is a performance loss if your loading up a higher size of texture regardless. it can be sometimes unnoticeable but it has to load a bigger file size regardless. its when you explore those 2048 x 2048 textures you start experiencing the fps drop.
