I made a spray out of my car but its disappointingly small. I know ive seen bigger sprays. So what are some of the resolutions that are used?

Any help is appreciated.

144x80 pixels is max i think. Try custom strike logo spray maker.

The height and width measurements have to be evenly divisible [that means no uneven numbers; no decimal points].

144x80 may seem small, in theory, but remember that most of the textures used in DoD maps are between 256x256 and 512x512. So look at the bank wall in Caen and imagine how big your spray's going to be up there, on-screen.

I personally use the advice found in these tutorials (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~wss/tutor.php). That's Wolverine's Spray Site. The first tut has a graph of legal sizes.

If you just popped your custom pldecal.wad file in your dod folder and you run to a server to try it out and see how it looks, but it shows the garish yellow HL "A" thing instead, try spraying it a few times. Either the server has disabled custom sprays or it takes a few times to catch on.

Making transparencies in sprays works the same as for sprites. You'll need to edit the palette with your paint application.

If I remember correctly, there is a size limit that most servers enforce. The size limit is 16kb. That limits the sprite sizes to 64x64 or 128x64, but no 128x128. You can of course use numbers that aren't powers of two, but HL will resize them anyway (correct if I'm wrong, this happens at least with model textures, I'd imagine it's the same with other textures).
