Sprites Not Visible in Hammer 3d View

Right for the last 3 hours I've been trying to find a solution to this, I am building a DOD map, and all is going well, until I try to add a sprite.
I insert the entity (env_sprite) select the sprite (flames.spr) and the render options (additive), and click ok, the entity box is visible in 2d views, but the sprite is not visible in 3d mode. I've tried various sprites. I've set up Hammer 3.5 for DOD accordingly, and am using an up to date FDG.

Any Suggestions

Note that when I Start a new map with the DOD settings and create the env_sprite entity it is visible and in full glory, I go to copy this to the map I'm working on and it becomes invisible again. This is really frustrating

Sometimes it appears, but when I got to 3d mode and look around the map it disappears again.

Um, only thing i can think of is that you have point entities or something else unchecked in your VisGroups that is not showing it, especially since they show up fine in new maps

No its not in a Vis group, its strange its visible until i move the camera in 3d mode

Maybe the background behind the sprite is making it disappear into it. Or... updated gfx drivers? It's not a bug I've found, but I've almost never used sprites :P
