Question about Overviews
Just a quickie.
Back in the day, we were able to take the overview of the map and add strat routes using what ever paint/photo program and install it in the overview folder for use during our game.
Currently we dont seem to be able to do this.
I know that custom skins and sounds can be added with out having to remove anything form the original set up of DOD, so i am asking if it is possible to be able to do this with Overviews?
unless the map has its custom overview in an open file structure no.
If the files are inside the bsp (most are) then there is no way to do it.
I recommend just putting in play time and learning the maps.

Is this for offical maps? If so use GFCscape and extract the overviews and edit them and stick them into the right folder, they be used over the .GFC ones. If the overview is within the .BSP you can extract it and mess around with it that way. But I think if there is a overview in the .BSP putting on into the dod/ folders won't over write it...
No it was a thought for all maps, custom that have them and stock also.
Thx Chicken, i was hoping it was possible. It would have great if it could have replaced the file like the custom skins and sounds do.
Aufo, i play in 10 - 12 week DOD tournament, in which we have a map list for the Territories for respective countries in WWII. Some of these maps might not get played during that time and while i might be the kind of player that WILL go out and play and learn the map on pubs. Some of our players wont download the map until the day of battle or the day before for a practise. (something about cloggin up thier hard drive was one reason i was given  )
In 1.3 days we used to make out a route on the overview and pass it out as a file amongst the troops and it compensated for lazy players ;) You just looked up at your overview and made sure you were near you coloured route.
Shame this cant be done. Oh well thx guys.
