I need to play around with the cap times because the map only has two flags. For this reason the map might be a little unfair in this version. It isn't like any other dod maps and requires lots of testing. It runs very well and is extremely detailed.

This is not a historical map as you can probably see. It was originally made by TheSurgeon for BG2 (BattleGrounds: Source). With permision, I worked on his map to make a version that had much higher FPS, while still keeping detail. It was then released in an official version of BG2. I have decided, because DOD and BG have similar gametypes and to get more mileage out of his map, to port it to DOD:S. All credit goes to him for the original idea and layouts. Good work :) Anyways, hope TheSurgeon likes this as well as the community. Here are the SS's and DL's.

This map looks cool !!! Very nice atmosphere !!

I was curious as to why the custom material was not embedded into the bsp. It takes a whole 5 secs to do w/pakrat.

A mini-map would be nice as well.

Great work Surgeon !!!

The problem, may not be the .res files contensts but the mixing of upper and lowercase letters in the file names. Brutal for linux systems and with undesired results.

What Rosie said. Please do not use uppercase file names, there is no need for it, and it makes things difficult for linux server operators. And it's not just new mappers, I have seen veteran mappers doing this too. In the next release could you please make the file names lowercase because it looks like a neat map otherwise.

Looks like it'll be fun to play. I changed all of the uppercase letters to lower case letters and made a new .res file for our linux server & automatic download.

Works like a charm.

a single bsp containing everything would eliminate all those issues...

Concerning historical accuracy:

actuallly it is not all that unfathomable. For Instance, during the italian campaign, the battle for Abbey Monte Cassino. Granted, it was German paratroopers and most of the allied attackers were British, but I think you understand what I'm getting at. Europe is literally FILLED with old ruins of abbeys, monestaries, chruches, castles, etc, and it is improbable to think that no armed actions ever took place at any of them ;)

Love the look of the map BTW, especially like the autumn colored trees in the background (small but noticable touch). Waiting for the fix before I download though.

Edit: Mirror removed due to packed version released.

This is from Jimmy Crack Corn, he asked me to host it, everything works with this file, res is included.

Sorry earlier, I had to take off from the HOTT server to take care of somestuff. I'll keep this map on our 32 slot server most of the night. I think its a great map. One issue after playing it alot is the disapearing rocks... other than that I love this map.

Nice map, I like these tight chokepoint maps... good for nade spamming :D

Only thing is, I and at least 6 players on our server experienced a crash to desktop HL2.exe error at various times on this map.

I used the pakrat version.
