Hey there,
long time no updates from me.
This was mainly due to my work on an interesting project, which was proposed to me by Hawk from the clan ESK (http://www.esk-hq.de/).
The scenario is roughly spoken set somewhere in the southern 1930s-Germany, in some barracks designed for peacetime-use, and the sense of the map is on the one hand to offer a meeting space for the clanmembers (you could call it an audio-visual IRC ;) ), and on the other hand to deliver many different environments for practicing skills in combat movement, movement under fire, shooting at fix targets and handling the different classes in general.
Well, let's start with the overview...
Entering the barracks...
The exercisement grounds (using quite a lot of sprites there I suppose).
Those fires actually still happen to be used today in the modern Bundeswehr (the recruits oat is called Zapfenstreich).
View towards one of the obstacle/movement in combat grounds.
The heart of the map, the shooting range building.
On the ground floor, there's a set of shootable targets in various distances...
.. while on the first and second floor, there's the troops and officer's lounge.
By using the grammophone in the officer's lounge, four different songs (classical and war-time-classics like lili marlene, one from a 1930-movie) can be played.
Continuing in the next posting...
