well, as the title says, im stupid and need help :D
i was workin on my map, when i had to turn pc off and i did so without closing Hammer, next time i open Hammer it says,

"Your file was not closed properly last time, would you like to open this file?"

or somethin like that

well ive seen it b4, and nothing has ever happened so im like OK fine cool

but then i open it up, AND THERE IS NOTHING THERE, ITS JUST BLACK SPACE!

so i got to my computer > program files... all the good stuff, and the VMF still has data on it, so i open it up in notepad AND ITS BLANK!!!!!!!

so i was wondering if there is any way i can open my map up on an earlier saved section.

check the .vmx file, rename it.

change the .vmx to .vmf and see if it opens

also check the C:\HammerAutosave folder

And most of all, make backup copies of your work in case the vmf gets corrupted again (happened to me, along with the vmx, which made me lose a week of work).

Best way is to store those backups online (privately) so you can recover things if your hdd fails too
