How does one make a custom scope? I'm interested in releasing a pack of some from the movies, and need to know how to get started.

Thanks for any help!

Get GCFscape open the dod:s gcf file, extract the scope material files from the materials/sprites/scopes directory.

For the scoped k98 you have
scope_k43_ur.vtf
scope_k43_ul.vtf
scope_k43_lr.vtf
scope_k43_ll.vtf

For the scoped springfield it's
scope_spring_ur.vtf
scope_spring_ul.vtf
scope_spring_lr.vtf
scope_spring_ll.vtf

UR=upper right
UL=upper left
LL=lower left
LR=lower right

They divide them into these 4 sections for some reason i don't know! Just edit each section ALPHA channel. To display the alpha channels, just click WINDOW and select CHANNELS.

To edit them, just paint the areas you want to appear as transparent in-game as Black. Anything in white will be the colour BLACK. Save the files in the appropriate directory.

Photoshop refuses to open them.

You're right. I forgot to mention to download the vtf plugin
