for any of you who have ever played CS 1.6 or CS:s you probably know about surfing, but i was wondering if that same concept could be used to make a surf map in DoD:s. I have not been able to find anything about it it so yeah, any ideas or comments would help me ALOT!

Anyone want to explain to me what surfing is? I stopped playing CS around 1.3 and don't play much Source.

honestly if you like surf maps you should be able to play/make surf maps... if people dont want to play surf maps dont play em... it doesnt effect you that they are there or not. i honestly dont like surfing that much but it is popular.

hey sephi, my friends and i used to play them in cs: s a little back when Sveney was around. When i was making hectic kmk asked if he could make the secret area, so i let him and he tried to make a surf part to it, but it didnt work as well. for some reason the physics are different in dod and dont allow it.

What is a surf map?

it's a map where you use a screwup part of the valve physics engine that allows you to travel in ridiculous speeds while strafing on an angled floor, it's kinda lame if you want my opinion, but some people enjoy it.

TBH both jump/climbing and surf maps didnt really impress me much in css but each to their own.

Like all games, if you find it fun then fair play. If anything I prefered the climbing maps just due to the sheer frustration of not being able to make it up the ledges (unless you had svcheats on and noclipped to the top then switched em off and gloated from high up ;) )
