[Request]Operation Market Garden Map

Alright, I've had this idea in my head for a while, and always thought it'd look cool in the Source engine, and now that Detonation is a mode, it might be easier to execute. What I am thinking of is having is a big field as illistrated in the picture below. What would be cool is if the Wehrmacht had to defend the two (or three, if the mapper wants) 88's from being blown up. For those that have seen Band of Brothers, then you'll know exactly the field I'm wanting.

And if the "cover" by the AA isn't descriptive enough, this is what I'm talking about:

Yes it is, and it looks great! Expected release date?

Anyone up to this?

Edit: Oh, and new_b, did you ever finish/release dod_push? That looked nice.

Watevaman,

No release date yet. The computer the files are on is out of order atm. I would say within 2 months. Same goes for dod_push although it will be released before dod_flurry.

That is an awesome trench model, ultra...*drool*

Wateva, I think the scenario from BoB you're thinking of is Brecourt Manor, not Market Garden.

Dwin, that model was made by Kominaa. He was kind enough to let me use it.

:)

Sorry for derailing your thread Watevaman !!

It's no problem.

Dwin, I believe it was Market Garden. It was right after *SPOILERS*speirs shot the german POW's*/SPOILERS* It was when Winters went through the tunnel and found that guy dead.

Nope, Dwin is correct, that would be the assault on Brecourt Manor, which happened on D-Day as part of Operation Overlord.

I like the map concept though, surprised no one else has thought about an 88 battery yet.. except the one in that ardennes map..

Its brecout which is in normandy, I've researched the topic as I'm going to start building a map for RnL based on the fighting there.

Maps that are wide open don't work so well with dod's gameplay, it's to easy for someone with a rifle or smg to just dominate the entire area unless things are done correctly which I'm yet to really see :(

Well, that's why I said maybe add some arty holes (places where arty stikes have impacted the earth). That should add some cover and maybe if you add some trees or something, then it might work.
