Is there anyway to run Hammer on a computer not connected to the internet. I ask because i'd like to run it on a laptop but dont want to have to add a wireless port because ive tried and its been hijacked many times so id rather not.

Hijacked? what do you mean? Like, people were connecting to your wireless and leeching off it? Just password the access :P I know my neighbors didn't!

AFAIK you can run hammer, disconnect from the internet and use it as long as you don't close it.

Yes you can use it offline, but you will need to go online at least once. While online run Steam. This way Steam stores your account info and then you can run it in offline mode to your hearts content.

I havne't connected Hammer for months, I only did last week to get the new update. Download hl2, dod:S and the sdk onto some computer then use the backup function and put it on your computer that way. I did that and it worked without connecting to the net first. Not sure if anything has changed though...

i did try the backup thing but then it wants to connect to verify the files are correct. but maybe i need to make a new one for HL2 as well.
