This is the final release of my map dod_hill_classic, all bugs and gameplay issues have been resolved, performance has been tweaked to be optimal for the nature of the map

-Performance tweaks, better fps
-Changed trigger method for random mortars to make them more random
-Changed mortars to deal more damage, have double the damage radius and changed their sounds to only be audible within a certain radius
-Added user controled mortars in axis hilltop fort
-Each time the allies capture a flag the random mortars get longer "fire between" perameters
-Fixed bug where allies could capture bunkers from outside corners
Post IPs of servers running the map, mirrors hosting the file and most of all Have fun !

I will most likely release a map briefing for hill_classic soon like colmar and jagd have, this is a seperate optional file that can be downloaded

Map is great - however its a pity you didn't put in the option to blow the bridge or the wall on the fort the bridge leads to. (like the original)
If you are on allies - if you leave the last flag till last it is more or less impossible to win - if every axis player camps the last one.

The flak gun has a texture missing, lots of white areas.
Unfortunate that there is now only 1 way to the last flag now that the destroyable wall has been removed. As Devils Rear mentioned, this makes it now even harder if not impossible for the Allied to win. Not the 'classic' at all.:(

Yeah blowing up the bridge or right side wall would be nice :)
There's no texture for the underside of the water when you go swimming! FPS is also a little suspect but I guess it's a <3<3<3<3<3 to work that out on an open map like this.
Overall, good fun - and well sourcified!

The East Wall is still blowable, it is marked with a stain overlay, you can only blow it up with bazooka now though
I have this in the changelist for the final version
Most people don't read it or don't know where to shoot so i am going to release a map brief for hill_classic soon . . .
And the missing textures you are getting are not a problem anyone else is getting that i know of, the only texture that i know is missing is the underwater texture for my custom water, you might want to download the map from a different place and reinstall . . .

Thanks for the information, since nothing I read in Steam forum or here mentioned this change at all. This is the first mention of this interesting change to this 'historic' map, much appreciated Someth|ngW|cked. :D

Love this map, though it has a bad tendency of lagging out our entire server for not reason every couple of minutes when server is full.
