Can the mods leave this post in the main forum as its just a "concept" map at the moment and I would assume it will have more views if in the main section
Dod_depot is a detonation style axis defence map
it contains:
8 apc's with 2 bomb points each to be planted (allies plant only)
2 destructable fuel containers that explode when shot
2 destructable walls (requires det pack)
1 rocketable wall
spawn protection enabled
the aim is for the allies to attack a apc refuling depot and destroy all hardware, in 2 cases the players "must" destory obsticles in order to reach 4 of the apcs
The map doesnt have a skybox yet and is in very early concept mode as i only started it today
Movies of map:
Low quality =
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr4WxUryveQ
high quality (large movie file) http://www.leetpenguin.co.uk/mrsa/Caboose/depot.wmv
A test version of the map is here:
http://www.leetpenguin.co.uk/mrsa/Caboose[/url]
and right click/download the item called depot28.zip
or here:
http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/14342
if you for any reason cant open the above link just go to
http://www.leetpenguin.co.uk/mrsa/Caboose/
then right click and save as on the movie file "depot.wmv"
please note i am also working to re release all my previous maps (5 in total) in a updated map pack with bug fixes requested by dod source players, for example dropzone will be brighter, contain demo targets and have a little button in the aircraft to turn the red light to green...why this is needed i dont know but hey keeps ppl happy)

kk let me know what u think but remember its mainly a proof of concept map at the moment..
did any one else know u cant place more than 8 bomb targets before the game dies?
i placed 9, 10 and 11 bomb targets on a map and you load in, try to join a team and it crashes, go back to 8 targets and its fine

I think it's a great concept. Having to blow open places in order to cap another object.
What do you think about adding some places where when you blow something up it either blocks a route or just makes it very difficult to pass it.
Maybe some areas where you have to crawl under some stuff to get to a good vantage point in the map?
I know the rocketable walls will give the rocketeers a warm fuzzy feeling.
I think some of the great maps out now could take advantage of some of this and make a great map even better.
Nice bit of forward thinking there caboose.

the map will get bigger in size so im planning on distributing those 3 close together apcs around the level a little more...if u want to crawl i can place barbed wire a little above the floor than kills you if youtouch it, so you have to crawl under to get to a apc...also means that if you manage to get there and plant, the axis would have to kill you then crawl after you, unless they had a way out of spawn to get there.
more rocketable walls will be added, probably more exploding tanks.
im working out how to make physics enabled blocks so they fall etc...if i can do that i can make the roof of some areas rocketable so they fall and block the area a little.
or maybe just tons of barells that block the way unless you shoot them or move them to get to the objective...
remember i can only have 8 apcs on the level...add 1 more and it dies so my flexability for how many situations the apcs can be in is limited to maybe 5 individual groups.
1*apc in hanger, 2*apcs i n hidden back area, 2* apcs in the bunker, maybe 2* apcs in the main open area, then one more somewhere thats hard to get to.

If you figure it out maybe in some map if you have a ravine or swiftly moving river you could incorporate a tree line where you would have to blow up the base of a tree in order to create a makshift bridge to get to a capzone.

what version are you talking about?
b1 version is available here
http://www.dayofdefeat.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67355
i just played a few servers running the map and mostly players like it even thought its not forgiving, you have to be bold and rush to those points with very little cover, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesnt.
very intense action. i had a huge amount of fun on it blowing stuff up :-)
