MREL Garand with NEW Reload Anims !

By request & personal choice I have released the custom anims on the default DoD version of the Garand.

The Bolt is smacked forward to load the first round.

I have also made the bloc-en-clip larger as I felt the original looked too small.

Also, I have used different Origins - I like um :)

I was gunna add a bayonet and stab anims - but I thought I should release this first as I have had it on my PC for some time now !

Please try it in game and lemme know what you think. :confused:

when i read the topic for this thread i was secretly hoping it was the default garand model (default garand is sexah!)

At the reload animation, when you put the clip in it plays a sound...after that, when you push the reciever, it plays the garand_reload_clipin sound....my question is...what sound is first played when you put the clip in?

ah....I was gonna release that in a bit with my customised Garand. I've had it for a while. Say, did you ever animate a Tommy, cause if you did, I might have that too...

No...... the default anims load the clip wich in turn releases the bolt forward (just as Garands were designed to do) Download HLMV and slow the anims down for the default Garand & you will see what I mean. :)

In my release the bolt is held back and needs a good whack to get it moving !

Some Garands did suffer from having a bolt that failed to close on insertion of the clip. This no doubt was not a major problem as it saved the soldier from the possible pain of getting his thumb caught (Garand Thumb as it was called).

Actually... the default Garand does push the bolt forward...in 1.0. But in 3.1 it was not pushed forward.

Oh, and I PMed you about a certain Tommy animation that needs a bit of....editage.

Well heres my feedback.

- Overall it's sort of boring, because theres nothing new in terms of it's aesthetic quality. The only thing new is the reload animations, which only entertains me for a few quick seconds.

- The animations are fantastic.

- I dont like the origins. It kind of reminds me of action heros who run around with miniguns in their muscular grip blasting away at their hips and magicly making headshots.

im slightly disapointed. I mean i dont want to write another suck up post so i'll just make this constructive. It's more useful for glim this way anyway. I notice that the hand doesn't bend at the wrist but rather father down the arm. The result is an ugly fat wrist effect. I'm going to pass on this particular work but i've seen alot of your stuff have rarely not liked it :) . Been in the forums since 1.3 (under The_Golden_One <<< bad name :p )

e/ also after analysing some more i feel that the pause before the arm moves forward is too long. After putting in the clip he pulls his hand back quite far then hangs a bit. A short jab would have been better imo. Still, its better than i can do ;)
