Hey everyone. Haven't been on here in awhile :) Anyways, I figured since I probably won't ever have time to port dod_strom to source I'd release the RMF file for the DoD 1.3 beta 4 version for public modification as any of you see fit. It's also a good example of a well-built DoD 1.3 map, in the case that you may still be developing for 1.3 (DoD 1.3 for life!).

Included in the zip file is the RMF (which should open in Hammer 3.4 or 3.5), the WAD file for textures, and the compiled version of the map in case you want to see what it looks like first. The release of the map was overshadowed by the release of DoD Source so it never really got out there, which was a shame because it was a pretty good map. So here's another chance to check it out, and see how everything was done.

As stated earlier please feel free to modify it and re-release for 1.3 or source, just as long as I get credit for the original. Ah how I miss the days of DoD 1.3 mapping... anyways, enjoy and happy mapping/viewing :)

Download Here (http://trash.kflorence.com/Strom_RMF_Package.zip) (about 8.6mb).

Oh, and in case you were wondering, I am waiting on the release of the dod_veghel RMF just incase I decide to port it to source, although if someone else would like to do the honors I may change my mind.

I would port this if it werent for the fact that I already have sooo very many projects on my plate... and the fact that I've pretty much taken a break from mapping until they truly fix the bejesus out of Hammer.

mapping community isnt as solid as it was before. however, there seems to be a lot of new comers, so hopefully they adapt well enough. and im sure someone will eventually take on this project. just give it time. it could even be me.

It's not that they don't care it's as StreamlineData and Neutrino say.

Plenty of "old" school mappers have moved on, the rest have there own projects and a lot of new mappers to DoD:S either covert "old" maps from scratch, with or without permision or make their own "leet" maps.

Anyway ... if people want to use the original RMF files to convert these maps to DoD:S then please do so. The basic brush work on this and some of my maps is very "convertable" to DoD:S.

NOTE: Some of the "leet" maps are begining to look a lot better these days, no offence ment by the statment. I'm sure my first dod maps were "leet" at the time ... oh wait, my first map was dod_sampol. I think I became "leet" with dod_zanzibar and I lost it completely with dod_martello :kitty:

(but man... is hammer so very annoying to work with!!! just after less than 1 hour, my eyes and brain/mind really start to hurt just by looking at trying to process all those messed up triangles!)
