For the most part, the screenshots look really nice. I don't get the bathroom wall though how it's blown away and the door frame remains. And the leaning chimney looks somewhat akward.

I downloaded the rar of images, and it looks very good. Maybe the best looking custom map I have seen.
Have you done a play test?

i have play whit my clan peoples two times two versions ^^ my english sorry its bad =)
the second version was look realy good whit hdr and currend cubemaps look the waterreflections =) i like it ! in the moment i think the finaly betatest is this weekend
whit a friendclan a 8 vs 8 match on my server ^^ =) when test finish and it looks good
the map will be released in a rc1 version look dod_calais_rc1 the i want to go a ather projekt like a normandy level behind the ozean on a flooded field whit a little bunker and trenshes :p then came the final version of calais
its aviable on my page see on top of this thread or on my server whit this ip

Wird es ein 1:1 Remake von Chemille oder was sind für "Veränderungen" zu erwarten, warum ausgerechnet Chemillie (es gibt ja schon eine source-chemillie variante) und hast du die Erlaubnis des Autors ?
Ich werde für dich in spe in "brauchbares" Englisch wenn du magst die Fragen bzw. deine Antworten übersetzen, damit die DoD Freunde aus dem Ausland auch mitbekommen was du ihnen mitteilen willst ;)

ehm danke aber erlaubnis ^^ sie ist nicht 1 zu 1 sondern so aus meiner fantasie und bereits gebaute chemille map finde ich erlich gesagt irgent wie komisch ^^ also meine finde ich besser weils einfach realistischer gebaut ist aber an die mapper von valve komme ich nicht rann ich bin aber auch noch anfänger also dafür ist dat ding super geworden vor allem das sie richtig gebaut ist so das man nich mit 10 fps rum läuft wie in dod dijon ^^ weil er der mapper in einem riesigen hohlen würfel gebaut hatt.
also greetz übersetze ma für mich deutsches schul englich ist sowie so für die katz ^^ =)

Hi Folks, Exicutor wanted me to tell you what he says about the map (i will translate your questions and his answers) :
First of all... he didnt rebuild Chemille 1:1 , its more he would like to see the map with better graphics (sourcifying), good fps and much more realistic.
He thinks the map will run very smooth on your systems, much better than dod_dijon and will bring much more fun than the original Chemille.
If you have more question, i will translate them for you and will tell you, what the mapper wants to answer.

p.s. one suggestion............maybe displace the edges of the broken walls as they wouldn't end up square if they had been blown by a mortar etc by that I mean across the thickness of the wall to save confusion

Looks good !!
My only suggestion would be in SS#1, that you add some rubble around the destroyed house (increase displacement height possibly). For a house in that state of destruction it seems to be lacking rubble. Rest looks good.

Looks amazing. I think you need more fog. With more clouds and fog in your 2d skybox, there could be more fog in your map.

the upper screens are shot in last week ago . i build there displacements for the destroyed walls in the map.it looks realy nice :)
i textured ohter lokations in the map and built more details ^^
but the axisspawn suxxs i mean it looks bad but i havn´t any idea´s^^

I downloaded the exe movie thing. Movies files don't play fro me, not sure what codec I'm missing.
Anyway, you should consider adding your movie clips to the You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/) website. Nobody has to download anything and its free to join.
The beauty of this website is that the movies play almost instantly, very cool streaming technology.

thats one of the authenticest destroyed city or group of houses i have seen so far. can't wait to check it out myself :)
The video looks awesome. Only thing that I noticed was the lights from the ceilings looking unrealistic with the concentrated bright spots, because the lights , by default, attenuate unrealistically exponentially.
I think that you should adjust the Quadratic, Linear, and Constant values to make them more believable. I ended up using values of Quadratic=1, Linear=.5, Constant=100 for most of my lights in my map and I really like the way it looks. You should experiment with it. Heh. It's really not that bad. I have one of those TI-83 graphing calculators that I got for school that I could put the lighting equation that the engine uses into. I put in the default coefficients and graphed it and saw the steep curve that that looks just like it would be the default light settings... I adjusted the coefficients on the calculator till it looked like it could be more realistic and then threw it in game and I was suprised to see how accurate it was.
