Maybe this needs to be in the Release section? ... a mod can decide that.

I'm releasing all my old DoD 1.3 mapping files, get them here:

http://www.mardymouse.co.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=30

Each zip has the rmf, map and a simple text file detailing the wads used and any other stuff that might be of interest. If any extra files are needed, like models and sprites, then a seperate "extras" zip file is also included.

If I've missed anything then just let me know.

The maps are there to do what you like with.

I'll double chack the zip file ...

Seems to work for me, what are you using to unzip it with. I use filzip 3.02 to package them.

Looking at the bug fixes for filzip, it looks like I might zip them with something else if lots of people have problems :kitty:

I've re-done the archives with Winzip 9.0, just incase there was a problem.

Haircut, I appreciate this a lot as I still intend to map for 1.3 for a good while until I decide to try source. :) But I have a question for ya...

Could you post your compiler programs and what version number they are? I'm having troubles with light bugs with my current compiler.

Yea ... I did think that might be important :D

My more recent maps used ZHLT v3.0, so for now try the latest ZHLT: http://www.zhlt.info/download-zhlt.html

The other problem might be any texture lights I used, you might have to add the texture reference to the lights.rad file.

I'll check that for you and let you know.

EDIT: here's two I have used but the values might not be exact untill I check when I get back home.

lantern_sides 255 190 130 25000
~fd_light 255 255 150 10000

lantern_sides: I beleive is in dod_zanzibar, I forget where the other one is used. Without these the maps will compile but they will obviously be very dark in places that need the light.

EDIT:

ZHLT 3.0 For Half Life 1 (3.2.1)

lantern_on 255 190 130 50000
~fd_light 255 255 150 25000
c2_sidelight 255 190 130 25000
+0~GENERIC86 255 230 125 2500

I've been using 3.3 or 3.4 lately(not at home currently so I'm not surewhich)...and I've been having a lot of problems with light bugs. Have you ever had trouble from having too many lights in a map or something? I'm not exactly sure what is causing my bugs...my light memory is within tolerable levels, and everything is structured fine(unless there's some "minimum thickness of brush to block light" rule I don't know about)...but when I compile the rad program generates random areas of 0 light in areas that should be lit...and sometimes even generates null textures. Both these errors occur on leaves of a texture only, never the whole textured brush, or even one whole side of the brush...it's always some leaf that isn't created until compile time. This has happened on multiple maps(all of them I've made, really)

Maybe I'll downgrade to 3.0 if you know it works right.

I've seen your other post on this and I do see that problem sometimes. I don't beleive my maps are that detailed so I can't say I've seen really bad problems with this. I just see it as a limitation of the compiler tools.

This is one of the reasons I don't run any fancy flags when compiling as I noticed more and more lighting problems by using them. I even stopped using the -extra flag due to lighing problems it caused.

As someone else mentioned in the other thread, you could play with -bounce to see if it helps.

Hey Haircut,

thanks for putting these out here. I'm going to take a look at them later, and see what kinds of ideas they inspire.
