Test version of the map is now available.
germans have a 30 second advantage at round start, so they can get in position.

allies have to cap all flags

spawn protection is on

skybox is basic and will be altered a lot before release.

more props will be added

overview will eventually be added

1 custom material is in the zip file, in the dod/materials/carentan folder

please put the carentan folder into

dod/materials/
so it becomes
dod/materials/carentan

if you would like to play the map a bit please download here and comment on what you think.
My mapping skills are still developing so i will consider all suggestions but i may not be able to do overly complicated alterations to the level.

since this test version was made i have altered a number of parts, added a dip at the middle flag, made the pharmacy explosion break off material from the front of the shop.
stopped allies entering axis spawn

I like how you post youtube vids for your map, easy load and can get a good feel of the map.

Its gonna be a challenge to do, are you making this a replica of the scene from BOB? COD did this very well but try not to copy the layout becuase thats cheap. Use your imagination along w/ referece pictures from the movie. Good work so far.

An added soundscape would be nice. One straight from the movie would be awesome. Btw, what's the soundpack you're using in the video?

whilst designing i used images mostly from band of brothers, i never played cod online so didnt know they had a carentan level.

as for more houses, im not sure if i will add any more (other than take the 2 houses in the map that you cant enter and make them into actually houses), as in my mind the map will be a small area with a lot of fighting based mostly around allied spawn as the germans will get 30 seconds (maybe more) to occupy the cafe de normandy before the allies can attack
however ill keep expanding the map as a option in case it ends up being a bit too small a fight


there will be sound scapes of distant battle etc, im working on a overview map at the moment

ill keep ya posted as i make changes

Yeah, check out CoD because they did Carentan amazingly well, but change it up, especially the back areas. Keep the front pretty much untouched, because it was almost perfectly true to BoB but use your imagination for the area behind the main row of buildings.

i need to know if the allies cant win cause germans have too strong positions.
also need to know if it lags with lots of players.


would appreciate any feedback.

also im stuck making a overview, read the wiki about them but well i got confused. any one out there good at making them and could help me out?
you would receive credit on the map release text file and release posts on fps banana etc

To be honest, this is one of the ugliest maps I've seen in a while. Take your time to create something really high quality, then people will want to play.
