So I've downloaded a couple new Garand skins from DoDCustomContent (great website, btw). The world models for both garands show up as purple and black checkered textures in-game.
The directory structure to the w_model texture file for the garand is as follows:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\****@***\day of defeat source\dod\materials\models\weapons\w_models\garan d\w_garand.vtf
My w_model for the K98 works fine, so maybe my structure is wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

hmmm what garand did you download, if it was the new model one, then the wood material is in a seperate folder
if not, its the fault of the vmt's not pointing to the right texture or to a texture that isnt there

Hmm... it's happens with both Propen's garand, and eSkwaad's. I made a VMT for the w models, but that didn't fix it.

First, check the zip file the new skin you want came packaged in. See if there are any .vvd or .vtx files in it. If not, go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\****@****\day of defeat source\dod\models\weapons and delete the files for the weapon that you have a new skin you want to use for.
Like for me, I had a new Garand skin I wanted, but I forgot I had previously downloaded a new garand model for DoD:S. So I installed the new skins, but the w_model file for the garand model I downloaded earlier was looking for a different skin than the one I had. When I deleted the w_model files for the custom garand model I downloaded, the problem was solved.
Hope that makes sense.
