I decided to take the day off of endlessly texturing my bunker map and do something random and fun. For a days work I'm happy with what I have done so far. Which isn't too much but doesn't look like utter crap so I'm happy =]
If you've ever seen the movie Cube, Cube2: Hypercube, or Cube Zero, then you know already this map will be repetive visually. For those that haven't seen the movie the premise is pretty simple, a bunch of people are trapped in a giant cube of cubes and some rooms have traps that ultimately kill our valient movie characters as they try to escape and figure out why this crazy ass thing was ever made.
So I have completed my template cube and only need to prevent color bleedthrough on it and I think it will be done. Here's the screenshots I have so far (won't look too impresive I'll admit but kinda cute in my opinion)

An important note is that it looks awful hard to climb from one cube to a higher one. Fortunately it is very possible and with a little practice (I picked it up after about a minute actually) you can climb with near perfection 95% of the time. It'll look wierd to see people crouched floating at the ceiling but I can't do too much to fix that unfortuantly.
The next step is to increase the cube size (likely by a very large amount probably 4x4 or 5x5 for a total of 16-25 rooms. And then the fun part! Trapping all the rooms with fun an unique ways to die! (oh and capture points... this is a dod map after all =p)
[Edit]
I'm just dumb... My rooms would be 4x4x4 or 5x5x5 making a few more rooms than I previously calculated. It would come to:
3^3= 27 rooms
4^3= 64 rooms
5^3= 125 rooms
So looks like either 27 or 64 rooms. I might be able to pull off the 64 because it sounds like a lot more than it is.
