Comments on my map layout

I've got a map in mind that i would like to create but the flag/map layout is a bit different to the usual, so i would like to hear your comments on how the gameplay would work with my idea.

It's a 3 flag map (all start uncaptured), with instead of 3 main pathways (like donner, kalt and argentan for example) it's got about 5 main pathways (left middle right) in total, though only 3 of them are meant to be the main ones.

See my design below, it takes a little decoding of the colour-coding but you'll get the gist ;).

I'm feeling like i'm fitting too many ideas into the one map, but tat the same time trying to keep it even and consistant, hence the 5 pathways.

The theme of the map will be night with a cold, almost eery, gothic atmosphere, in some areas. I'll name it dod_relic, if the design goes ahead.

Please - any comments/critisicms.

Solitude and Harrington have bits of seperation in their maps and they did ok. Best way to find out is to make it.

It looks exactly like the krafstoff (sp?) layout.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing tho. ;) I loved that map.

If you want to make a 3 flag map, make sure they're all 2 man caps, or the map will be over way to fast.

Thanks guys and you're right, best way to find out is to make it. Feedback is positive so far so i'll go ahead :). The krafstoff layout didn't occur to me either, nor harrington, but good point.

And yes i'll make them 2-man caps :).

those long narrow paths cutting straight across the map, i'd say should be avoided. Snipers and MGs could possibly have way too much power. An S-shape or even subtle kink could work nicely to keep fools from seeing directly across the whole map, but other than that it looks like a great layout.

But is the open feild going to be completely cut off from the rest of the map? blocked off from everywhere other than the spawns?

Yes McJewels i think i'll have the field completely cut off from the rest of the map, AS IN, only accessable from the spawns. However, building windows to the left of the field will be able to cover a bit of that field. What do ya reckon? Good idea or not?

I'm thinking of getting rid of that left long narrow path and replacing it with more corners in the backstreets or backyards or something.

The long narrow path on the right (left of the field) i will add some angles and cover so it's not a mg/sniper fest, thanks for pointing that out ;).
