It's just a fun idea to make this G.I. Joe skin and planning some other characters too, so I don't know how it turns out and if I'll release it to the public, I probably will release it though :P.

I agree, You should do this. I would absolutely use this just for nostalgia sake. I'd feel like I was 10 again playing G.I. JOE DoD! Except I wouldn't have to waste my JOE figures to firecrackers just to see them fly apart.

I was about to abandon the joe project, but now it seems there is some interest in it ;)

I'd like to make some more to get all 6 classes a custom gi joe skin, but I could use some help with that, cause I don't remember all the joes and there apperance, and so I need some help to find a character that fits into the class (weapon/player model).

I'm also working on cobra skins btw, and those are for the Axis ofcourse ;)
I'll show a WIP asap.

Ebay might be a good source for finding characters. I pesonaly cant remember any of the top of my head, but I'll see what i can dig up for reference pics.

Well, what I'd like is using the most known characters, and they must fit into the player model, for example I cannot use a character who has no shirt on.

Are you looking for 80's vintage only or current as well.

Aha.. there IS another .. ;)

I thought I was the only one (EZ not included.. lol) that has a "thing" for the old G.I. Joe guys from the 80's.. I put together some models awhile back too.. Here's a link to the thread for downloading if you're interested..

I did Duke & Snake Eyes models too for an unfinished para pack..

Anyway.. I've been wanting to do some newer versions with a few new characters for Source, but there's no point if you're not allowed to use custom models.. :(

I know about yojoe.com though but then I'll have to search all the figures to find a suitable, so that's why I'd like someone to remember some figures that are suitable for the models but I'll have a look though.

And it's to bad that you can't have custom models so I can make them more real to joe, so at this point I need characters that suit the most for the standard player models.

Maybe we can work together on this?
