old mapper needs new tricks...

I did a little mapping back in the old DOD days (dod_getribe) and i've been wanting to get bakc into for source. Only problem is, i've got my map up and running with full lighting, but everythime i pick my team and class, the map crashes. I can fly around in spec all day long but as soon as the respawn timer hit "0" HL2 crashes back to hammer. any help appreciated, and don't be afraid to be technical.

I think I might have an idea for you: for your spawn points do you have both an info_player_start AND an info_player_axis/allies? Cause I know that gave me problems when I first started mapping for DOD:S.

only ents in the map are light_env, info_player_start, info_player_axis, info_player_allies, and dod_detect. The map has full lighting, and there are no leaks. It's driving me nuts!

Is your lighting for HDR? If so, do you have the following entities for the lighting?: env_tonemap_controller, a logic_auto (these entities are found in the sample sdk_hdr level with I/O settings pre-set for learning how to do HDR lighting)?
If not, are you compiling the level with HDR checked off at the compile screen just before you compile the level?
These are the only things I can think of at the moment. Though, make sure your settings for dod_detect are correct cause that might cause you some problems.

Look at the flash sample and double check all your world entities if you haven't already.

funny thing is though, I have an info_player_start in my map and it runs fine... hmmmmm....
