I'm in the process of compiling it all out & hope to have a test run today. As of now there are 4 flags One 2 man and the rest single man. The Axis first flag takes 2 man to cap, Same with Allies I will see how the game play goes . Allies also have to blow a gate to enter the main gate camp area . Tip you have 5 sec to get away after you trigger the gate area . I also have a night time version in the works with panning spot lights but still have to work out FPS issues on that version. On this version the FPS are stable anywhere from 30 to 90 the middle and inside buildings are very good Ive found that open maps are very tough to keep a good solid frame rate but with a lot of optimizing ive seemed to have worked it out.
I have modeled this map after Stalag luft III located in Sagan Poland, Stalag Luft III was located 100 miles southeast of Berlin in what is now Poland. The POW camp was one of six operated by the Luftwaffe for downed British and American airmen. I was going to name it Sagan_luft3 but decided to go with a more popular name stalag13
here is a link about it

Nice start !! Reminds of a level in cod.

Maybe fix up the world/skybox fog transition. Pic #3 you can see the fog abruptly end.

Also, maybe add some objects in the open spaces for cover?

POW camp, right? That's what I thought first. It reminds me of that map just as much your pier reminds me of a level in MoH:AA.

PS: In the last picture of first post, it looks like it's early in the morning, and it's humid. Really convincing, looking forward to it.

It's ready to roll bsp file has been pakrat . This is still a beta I'm sure there will be some future changes the final version will be called dod_stalag3 give me some input if you could. I also have night version in the works with moving spot lights and a couple other twists just want to see how this one goes. Still not very sure how the map playability is going to pan out, There is also a tunnel in the works I had it in this version but it really caused a lot of trouble had to take it our for now. Hope you like it Enjoy ! ! DL link below.

Feel free to decompile dod_pier and take a look.

Basically, I made a (32*32) texture (in P.S) that matched my fog color, and surrounded the inside of a skybox with a hollowed out textured cube (func_brush w/shadows disabled). It was the only way I could think of to bypass the sky showing up (short of making a new skybox texture). Yes, I'm lazy. :p

Hi Ripster,

Nice interesting map... Just a few comments…

1) Your map has only 22 spawn points, therefore 32 players server can’t run your map.
2) It’s a sniper heavy & intense map, you might want to consider a second route for the frontline and support classes. Players were fustrated that they can’t even get out of the spawn and 10 minutes in everyone is rocking the vote.

Regards, Kurt

Thanks for the Input :)
1) LOL I can't count DOH!! Will be in next release ASAP !! I also made a booboo on the name forgot to put in beta dod_stalag13(b1)
2) From the allies Spawn there are 3 places to enter the camp "Main Gate" and far right breakable area also far left although it can be tough maybe more cover would help ?

Hey Ripster...

My team has had a lot of fun on this map.

Our server is actually named Stalag 13, so it's kind of fun to see a map named after it.

Quick suggestions:

1. There needs to be more cover at the main entrance. Sandbags, bombed out holes, tiger tank or anything else to provide more cover. Fog or smoke coming from a car would be pretty cool too for cover.

2. A tunnel would be excellent. If it could lead from the graveyard to one of the prison buildings, that would be awesome.

3. Night time would be great. There are already enough day maps. Maybe you could incorporate a sky like dod_smallhill?

I would love a chance to talk with you more on this map!
