I have been having some trouble learning how to edit the metal for the weapons. I dont understand how many of these guys who reskin the metal know where everything is, how they have the exact highlights as the original metal, and how they add detail to the retextured metal. I got the wood texturing down all i need now is how to learn metal work.

Well there are varous ways to make metal textures.

Try to google on "metal texture tutorial" etc. first.

And then try to add some grain, color, cloud, custom images, effects to it.

But the more realistic the harder it gets.
So try the basics first, and work your way up, by messing around with some settings.

But there sould be enough metal tutorials on google so pick the one you find best to learn.
