Looks good.

You've got some nice base wood and metal textures but there is a lot of room for additional details. Looking at the .vtf right now I can't see any scratches, dents or desaturated/oversaturated parts. Also remember light can come from many places and also reflects off metal in different ways to wood, it doesn't look very shiny to me.

Remember you can make the metal look shinier by making your alpha map reflect specific parts of the metal (highlights). A simple way to do this is to just use a grayscale version of your skin with edited levels/brightness/contrast.

Photoskinned bullets for the lose :(

Very nice, you even kept the skin looking great on the back of the stock, I had trouble with that.

I like the wood. (not like it sounds :p )

Your Alphamap is too strong though. That thing would shine like it was chromed, if the alphamap was working.

PM me if you want to know more ;)

ok, i will defenitly look into the alpha spec and what not. all that stuff is fairly new to me and i guess i must learn the ways of a skinner to be one of the best. So thanks for the comments and also for the help

p.s. Forral is the best dod skinner in my opinion at the time being.

Well, Brutal has come back and started doing DoD skins, I learnt a lot from him way back in the GoldSrc days and there are of course a lot of other talented people around MSA :)

But if you like my style most, thank you.

Keep at it!
