Please don't take this stuff the wrong way.

The highlights are very obtuse. They are big thick and bold, which leads to a "sloppy" look in my opinion (especially with the FOV of the model in the default anims). You may want to try and thin them down, or make them appear a bit more subtle so things like the gas system cover on the handguard don't contrast so heavily against the upper receiver.

I agree to a point with the aforementioned poster who "doesn't know" about the grainyness of the texture. It does look like you were using the noise filter or sharpen filter; whether or not you actually did doesn't have much to do with his arguement. That said, I don't think the metal should look that grainy: Aside from powdercoating that is done on some modern guns, bluing or parkerizing isn't going to leave a "grain" like that, specifically for a weapon that is less than a year old at maximum.

And just a word of advice: Touting a WIP skin as "probably the most detailed greatest looking skin ever!!!" does not come off very well- it makes you seem very haughty.

The metals great. However, I think the wood could use some work. Try to give it some more detail, or even better go for bakelite instead... I hear MP44's often came with bakelite.

i think guyver thought you were refering to the stock, not the pistol grip.

Guyver
04-17-2006, 08:28 PM
Yep, the grip is Bakelike, the stock however, is not.

Since DoD123's picture mostly showed the stock, I thought he meant it should be Bakelite.
