Merderet Information

I thought this level was offical... but it wasn't included in my installer.

I downloaded DoD v1.0 the day it was released from FilePlanet. Is the level not included, or has the installer been updated. I've got everything worked out now (i hope, haven't tried running the level yet).

Is this old news? I've been away so I have no idea.

Thoughts?

Only included in the Retail! What! Man I'd be bustin' some skulls if I were IR right about now! D:

But I supose its better to be in the version that others have to PAY for as supose to say, download for Free :)

I think they were in the Linux version also.

hey everyone...

yes both maps were in the retail release, and linux, but not windows. that was a valve/activision decision.

IR and I are not bustin any skulls. :)

it was to give some extra incentive to buy the retail release. they may get included in an official mod patch later, however no decisions have been made about it, so don't expect it. yes, you can go download them somewhere, however if you have the money and really want to support those maps and DoD, go buy the retail version (yes, a shameless plug). the new interface kicks ass!

anyway, do what you must. i hope you enjoy the maps should you play them. we put a lot of work into them. :)

Ya, a lot of work that ends up not getting much play time at all because it wasn't with the download. Very obvious, valve and activision didn't think about it deep enough or they just don't understand how mod communities work.

This particular news hit me hard on release day as i'm a fan of your maps and realized there is only gonna be half the servers (if that) running it compared to a map within the download release.
