I think he's asking if the black ring around the top of the helmet is intentional or a bug.

If that's what he's asking, then the ring is a result of where the texture meshes together on the skin, and it is a "bug"

As you should see if you look close there is a black hole/ring on the helmet. and it may be a bug.

It's a UVW (texture map/skin) problem or could be a misalignment. Did you edit the skin?

Yes I think its the mesh that causes it.
I have seen lot of those bugs in varous games and think it's not always possible to fix it somehow.
Might be because of the movement of the head.
