You forgot to mention this bit in the readme.txt

in mani_server make sure there is this line

mani_skins_admin 1

Also.. There is only one model for all classes. So no matter what class you are you look the same. If you are an admin.

I can also include the BZips if need be for those that run fastDL..

is it recomended that non server admins/owners Dl and install these or are they auto installed upon joining the server?

Also will custom skins give me an issue for seeing these skins in a server?

The download on ours takes an extra 5 seconds max..

We have fast downloads enabled. :D

well basically, our clan made custom skins to use with this. We substituted your vtf files for ours, and neglected to install the model files. We have the settings identical to everything you have, but it doesn't work for us.

But You have to upload everything.. You can not alter in anyway.

If you want to send me the skins you have, I can try to get them compiled..

I will also try to get our guy that compiles them, to post directions.. It took us a few weeks to figure it out..


I suggest you upload originals first make sure it works for you..

DO NOT MODIFY IN ANY WAY - UPLOAD EXACTLY AS YOU DL THEM.

I don't know how to compile.. I tried but couldn't get it to work..

I wirked with him to set up alle the directories and such.. He took Coyote's skins and made them work..

Wow thats all I have to say been using them for a week or so, The only thing is in Ver L mani, you can only turn them off when in game and type settings it works to get them off. I really thank you very much for your time in figuring out how to get these to work. Ok I am out..

Hi there.. I can't seem to get these to work correctly. Installed on the server and the download url (bzip2). They download correctly and get installed to the right place. The server thinks it loaded them correctly:

Loaded model [Admin Axis] Precached [models/player/custom/admin_axis/german_admin.mdl] with 8 resources

Loaded model [Admin Allies] Precached [models/player/custom/admin_allies/american_admin.mdl] with 8 resources

When I get into the game I select the admin skin via settings.

On my testing machine I'm just typing kill and viewing my model... no admin skin. All the mani options are set correctly.

I've went over everything 3 times... this really should just work. Just wondering if you had any ideas.

When you type kill what do you see?

Also, check your Admin level in Mani..

Just the standard support model. I also tried dx8 and dx9 but either should work since there's textures for both.

I'm perplexed as to what is wrong. I use a FPS config which turns off a lot of decals.. but I removed that just in case that was the problem.

And full admin BTW.. no skin restrictions.

I'll hop into one of your servers... maybe there will be an admin on and I can atleast know if my client can see them properly.

yeah, I can see your waffen and paratrooper skins fine (pretty cool BTW).

I certainly should be able to see the skin on myself correct? If so, I really can't figure this out... I kill myself and then go back to the body and it's the default skin.

For some reason the files on the server didn't match the crc of the client (corrupt) so I replaced the server side and now they work fine.

Are the paratroopers and waffen skins you use available without the clan logo? please? :)

If using correctly recompiled skins...How would I go about making every client DL a skin personal for me. so that my skin would be different than everyone else's.

As for your other question..

It is possible to have basically an unlimited amount of skins. We have tested up to 2. And it worked fine..

However, admins are admins..You will be not be able to have a diff skin than everyone else.

Everyone will get the option to pick whichever skin they want to use. U could tell them not to use it?

ive loaded in the admin skins as stated in the readme file included but all everyone sees is admins runnin round as the big red error word with a weapon, quite funny actually, anyone have this also and what is the fix?

we are running a linux server with mani 1.2 beta m rc6 smm 1.2

Either your models aren't being downloaded to the correct place or the files are corrupt. I had that problem until I replaced the files on the server one more time.

hello again, i reinstalled the skins on my server and my dlurl, now instead of the red error sign i just get no model at all with a weapon, im rready to give up on this, all files are being downloaded correctly, ma_force minmodle is 0. any help would be appreciated.

That is the beauty of them.. They will not replace your default skins.. They are a new set.. That will only work on the server that is activating them.

A few questions:
Do your custom skins supercede or overwrite the default models?

Can a client block the download ?

If yes to the first and no to the second, is there a list of files available to clients so they can remove the custom player skins before league matches?

Admin get menu to choose admin or standard skins.
Choose Admin: Admin and non admin see a dancing red ERROR , no models.
Choose standard: seen as ERROR message by admin AND non admin players.

Well I've answered my own question **LOL**
The link on the first post in this thread is not to the admin player model pack but to a waffen ss and paratroopers pack. I downloaded the appropriate pack directly from the DODCustomContent web site. Great skins Wile. :D

We made a self installer to the srcds root dod directory for the mani admin skin pack and included instructions on editing the mani_server.cfg , setting admin permissions in the adminlist.txt and admingroups.txt files and server side fast download to the client.

Since we created these, the only bug we have seen is that Admins can't deselect the skin no matter what.

When U are an admin, U will notice that the hands look different.

We have a Skin pack to corect this as well..

It is a client only install ..

I have found through testing that you can choose if you wish to have the admin skins or not by typing settings in the console, then the proper menu is available to change this, you then lose the skin after the next respawn if you wish.
You can have this settings menu come up automatically in mani (use 2 in below setting) but it shows up after each spawn and is annoying, I have also left the skin chooser menu off...since it doesn't work properly as it is.

You can use you public chat key and type "settings" to get the menu.

I Installed it last night on our server and it works great it seems to have a few small issues but its workin . 63.210.145.188:27015 [MG] MurderGrounds BrotherHood More than just a Clan !

I installed these , but when i join my server i get the box with the skin chooser.

The options are

1 standard
0 exit

There is no option for admin.

Anyone know where ive gone wrong ??9

yes u have to update ur admin prives.

add "M" to ur prives in the admin.txt or client.txt
