I just got Schlex to host the file (thanks alot) and I'm ready to release the file.
Ok these are new pictures to replace the weapon/class selection pictures. they don't show weapon info but us (I don't want to sound superior by saying this but) longer-time players allready got the general idea of the guns and don't need the text.
Pictures.

Now if only retail OGL 1042 x 768 resolution supported those pictures:rolleyes: (I pity you guys who are playing mod, when the HL patch comes along you lose class selection pictures at that resolution)

Put them in: C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\dod\gfx\vgui
They look great
Could you maybe make a version with no writing or flags? :) ;)

I figured it all, but was it really all that nessesary. A WinAce extractor extracting a folder with a zip which contains three zip files, one for each nation. Couldn't you just put all the nations in one zip, they all go to the same place?
Trully amazing work. I've got to say that the carbine picture makes me laugh though. >Attack of the fat *******s!< LOL!

since some of you want a version w/ out the flags/writing I'll start working on those. Expect a release around maybe Wed night/Thursday as I'm going to Cedar Point on Wendsday.
Thank's for the feedback guys, glad you all like them.

Very nice, except I dont really like the Font used.
Perhaps using Impact font with maybe a yellow shadow outline?
Genie

I dont see why I couldn't do that.
You would have to wait a little bit, but I will still do it. (or at least try)
notes
the American flag has 50 stars, I didn't catch that till after I made it.
The British soldiers are actually paras.
If you want to mirror the file go right ahead.
anything else important?
hrrrmmmm, guess not.

I was thinking more along the lines of looking like this.
Definately smaller font, and small yellow outline.

Yes Genie if you could make them like that, that would be hella awesome.
Also, maybe make the flags a bit more transparent...so you can see the pics better? Hope this isn't asking too much, I am just a perfectionist when it comes to my DoD. :D

I have no problem with releasing another version but I just got one question.
I feel stupid askin but.
What tool did you use to make that outline? All I can make in photoshop (currently) are basic metal/wood textures and other "simples"
Thanks for the feedback guys
I believe that is called a stroke. You can access it from the options.

I don't know why, but that's the funniest thing I've read. I almost pissed my pants..I don't know why.

Where did you find those pics?
It's even funnier when you say something like; "Hmm, I see were you are going with this, but it would look better if you stroke it."

Don't like them?
well go ahead and tell me what you think I did worng and I'll go right ahead and fix them. Not at this moment tho as I havn't played DoD in about 3 weeks, and I want to play again. This delay was due to making custom stuff for DoD. I think that's somewhat ironic.

The more I look at them im starting to like em. They are just a little plain for my taste. Maybe change the text cause its kinda boring. And make some kind of border around the pic.
Great job though. Also these are only my opinions I may be wrong.

What I wrote earlier.
Im recommending my style.
I also recommend that they look smaller and a black border perhaps, as stated above.

where did you get the pics from?

You do this without the flags, inferno's text style, and maybe change the fg-42 pics (cant see the gun) and get rid of the fat men picture (just doesn't give a combat feeling ;) ) and this pack will be perfect. Great work.
Oh my gosh many props to ya. What you need is a fancy name for this collection of pictures! And if you have a Version2 later on, don't hesitate to post!!!!
I agree with Weasel, it's kind of plain. But other then that pretty good jobs. But I dont like the Nazi flag. An Iron Cross flag would be better in my opinion, especially when taking into consideration that the German soldiers in DOD arent even Nazis.

Ok guys I guess I'll start working on a V2. This will include
no background flags
Black borders
impact font
I'll have to keep those fg-42 pics 'cuz those are the only ones I can find.
ditto for the m1, I'll do some more searching but that's the only visable pic I've seen out of a good 40 diff. sites
I'm not sure how you got that yellow fade around the letters in the picture that you posted up but I'll tinker around and see waht I can do.
