A while ago someone kindly posted the a blank background image used for the overview maps, but I've searched and cant find it. could someone post it again please? or point me to the thread?

Thanks CoolHand, but the one I'm after is the same as the official dod source maps with the faded folded paper look. A month or 3 ago somebody posted it in the middle of some other thread, but I can't find it now that I want it.

I too am looking for this. I've seen a few custom maps that have the same style map overviews as the official DoD:S ones (as in this style http://www.defeatsource.net/images/screenshots/DoD_Avalanche/map_avalanche.jpg)

Yeah, I like it when custom maps have the same kind of overview as the official maps. It keeps in tune with the whole game gives it a small mesure of realism with the operation name and all. So far, I've only seen Anvil and Stug that hhave that type of overview, it would be great for more of the custom maps to have it ^_^.

Nope, I already have that one and the edit of that one. I also downloaded the stug one but was wondering if he found another.

I found something that would work pretty well for an overview background. It's the paper background from the DoD:S War Report stats page. Cut it in half and it's basically the overview background. Could rotate it too if you wanted. Just need to add the grid and some other stuff. Here --

I realize it's not quite the right resolution, but it's better than nothing.

yep that's also the paper on which the pre renders of the soldiers models were done before the game was released. Thx for that Zook :)

The new overviews are made with Illustrator, in vectors, hence the smooth lines and such. If any of you saw the dod_pillbox2 overview, you'll see what I'm talking about :P

I like the overviews like the ones in the official maps.
