MP44 stock - participate please

This is the dilemma modellers and skinners face - 1 weapon type, about 100 variants.
This question came up in a conversation recently, and I am actually curious to see what the community thinks.
So this is a sort of census taking.
WHICH stock do you think would be best for the MP/StG44 skin to look similar to? Long winded replies not really necessary; just put the number of the one you think would be best.

Hard to make out some of the hues due to the shine but I'd say 5

I like the color and grain of #1. I don't know why people like #6 so much... Yay, it's shiny.

It's alot easier for them to do their makeup with a reflective surface ;)

I went for #6 because it has a sling, otherwise I would've gone with 5.
oh yeah, just for the uninformed, anyone voting for #2 is voting for the default DoD:S stock. (recognize the grain? ;) )

Just to give everyone a heads-up on the reason of this post:
It's not just about the MP44 stock. It's to get a feel for what the majority of the people expect to see when they look at a weapon skin.
I, for one, will always try to stick as closely as possible to the real things and accuracy when skinning. The problem is, there are soooo many different versions and styles to choose from. Believe it or not, the original DOD weapon skinner himself made VERY accurate weapon skins. Yet many people (myself included) think that they somehow come off NOT looking real. I think a lot of it has to do with the way the game and video card process the skin and light it. To give an example, an almost photo-realistic skin of an M1 garand wooden stock, literally a copy of the real thing, when in-game will look way too red. It's just the way it processes.
It can become very annoying as a skinner to go through about 4-5 different variants of wooden stocks to find a happy medium that pleases everyone. I started this post so now most skinners at least have an idea of what people tune into, and not just end up copying someone else's style that had a lot of downloads. Of course this does not mean that all skins should (or will) look this way. Like I said, it's just a census :)

It should also be mentioned that pictures of collector's or museum's guns aren't always the accurate historical portrayals they seem to be. The MP44, for example, at the end of WW2 was a high-tech weapon and not a collector's item. The majority of the captured weapons were kept in-use by either the East-German Army or NATO allies (like the Italian airborne units) for decades. During this time they went through overhauls and replacement parts that sometimes differed from the original specifications or materials.
Another example is that it is HIGHLY doubtful that you could find many M1 Garands, M1 Carbines or B.A.R.'s that are still in their original WW2 look. Either they will look worn out and beat up OR they have been re-finished and received new stocks. VERY few Garands today will look today like they did back in 1940-45.
Not everyone is going to care about historical accuracy, but those who do, reading, and a lot of it, is a must. Here is a hint: every single weapon in DOD has a forum somewhere on the internet where collector's discuss their historical fireams and how to spot real ones and fake ones ;)

I voted for number 1....
Think it looks the most recognizable to me.....
Thats why my in-game STG looks like it does ;)

Voted 6.
I liked #3 the best. Bad, cheap-looking piece of wood with screwy grain. Really speaks to me as a late-war piece and rushed production. Most visually interesting, imo. #6 is just way too bland-looking.

i'll have to go with 3 or 6 - in my opinion it really also matters on what type of metal color you're going with - if it's light/dark - blackish or silverish etc.

In that case, Wile, you look A LOT like my girlfriend's father.
why stock 6? the only one with belt? the rest can have belts too
stock 2 looks much better...stands out from the crowd
what a bunch of lemmings...with the glare on stock 6 you can't even make the color out that well.

I too chose #6...Why? because I like it. Sorry if that makes me a "lemming."

EDIT: It's also kinda funny that you chose #2...It's the default stock in DoD:S
