I've been working on a couple Steam GUI skins for the past few weeks and thought yoose folks might enjoy 'em.

The first skin is 'BloodStone'. I used a 3D effect (maybea little too much) to add a little 'life' to the Steam interface.
You can DL it HERE (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/bloodstone.zip).

The second one is 'Jungle'. Its the first skin, that I've seen anyway, to implement background imaging instead
of just a flat sinlge color. Also, I created translucent buttons to give it a more 'active' feel.
You can DL it HERE (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/jungle.zip)

Simply extract the files to your \Skins\ folder and select 'BloodStone' from the 'Settings > Interface' combo box.

Enjoy!

Note: If you DLed any of my skins before 2/14/06, please redownload and reinstall them.
I found a minor bug in the 'Server->Filter' section and have fixed it. Also, now that I've gotten 'Friends' to work, I've done some refining of the chat panel.

OK, so here's my latest skin. I call it 'IronWorks'. Its a study in transparancies. You can change the main background image to anything you want by simply replacing the 'MetalBG_Blk.tga' image with your own.
Dl it HERE (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/ironworks.zip)
Screenshot Here (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/ironworks.jpg)

Simply extract the files to your \Skins\ folder and select 'IronWorks' from the 'Settings > Interface' combo box.

Enjoy.

I also keep the skins updated at: FPSBANANA (http://www.fpsbanana.com/?section=viewlist.guis.guis.main.24&order=views&sort=desc&guis_page=2)

Something in blue - new skin - 'Spaced'.

I basically just started with my IronWorks skin and changed the BG, adjusted the border/control images and fill in most of the transparancies. Nothing earthshaking, but different.

Dl it HERE (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/spaced.zip)

Simply extract the files to your \Skins\ folder and select 'Spaced' from the 'Settings > Interface' combo box.

Enjoy.

New skin. "Camo". Something simple and to the point. Only 2 custom images (the background and the resizer) used. Very compact.

Dl it HERE (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/camo.zip)
Screenshot Here (http://home.mchsi.com/~refugeegamers/camo.jpg)

Simply extract the files to your \Skins\ folder and select 'Camo' from the 'Settings > Interface' combo box.

Enjoy.

Steam has added a new 'Browse...' button to the Games panel. To correct the display of this button,
either reDL and install the skin, OR navigate to the:
Steam\Skins\(skin name)\Steam\Cached\
folder and delete the 'gamespage.res' file.
