Disable shadows on dynamic grass?

Is there a way to disable shadows on those dynamic grass textures which stand up right and cast a shadow? Perhaps in the detail.vbsp file?

No one knows? My grass/plants are really chugging the FPS, when I "showbudget", the shadows are really high.

i don't think grass / tree detailsprites cast shadows.
they are made from a "flat" vtf tex file tho' you can use models too.
are you using the standard dod detail.vbsp or a custom one?
i made a custom one for dod_pacific and i found that if you have the density too high it can give you a huge "showbudget" spike.

I'm using the grass (plants) texture from the new cs_militia. I thought I saw shadows from them on a way smaller displacement before. I just thought that on my map they're not showing up because I have a huge displacement and a high lightmap, so they wont show up but they're there causing expense - kinda thing. Maybe I'm over thinking this. But my shadow rendering on my budget is high even though most of my props don't cast shadows.
Basically I added that cs_militia/plants details info into my existing details.vbsp (while making a backup of course).
Beh I dunno, I'll figure it out, thanks though.
