I have a couple of "problems" with my new map:

1) A few ppl are seeing the red "ERROR" where I have a 88 flak and a tree. I've made both prop_statics. I've tried props_physics_multiplayer but most often you can "walk through" them (btw, most of the house drain pipes in Valves' new Kalt are see/walk through as well..lol)

2) I've set loafs of bread and coffee mugs as props_physics_multiplayer and have checked off "start asleep" as they don't end up on the ground when you run the map. However, if you shoot the table they're on (rather than nade it which scatters everything), the table rolls away/comes apart and you're left with the bread, etc. "floating" in the air.

Any suggestions would be most welcome (Thanks!)

#1- they don't have the models

#2- probably stuck in the floor or they are set to be still until shot.

Yeah I believe you need to pack the 88 and any other custom models you've used in your BSP using a proggie called BSPZip, that way the model is downloaded with the map.

For the models, uncheck the Fall asleep and place it slightly above the table. They will fall to the table when the map loads.

Start asleep basically means they won't do anything until something collides with them or you press the use key on them.

Thanks for all your ideas Gents. Unfortunately(?), the 2 models some can't see are thr flak18.mdl and vrbaia.mdl (tree) that are standard models in Hammer and should be within any Valve games as far as I know. I tried pakrating them into my bsp but then when I tested the map I saw big red errors..lol. Re-pakrat'd the map without them and it's back to normal for most players.

Great idea El Capitan, I'll try it on my new map dod_courtyard.

flak18.mdl and vrbaia.mdl are not standard models. You will need to pack them some how.

This is why some people can see them and others can't. The players that can see them have downloaded other maps that use these custom models.

.... as long as those custom models were not embedded within the bsp of the said other maps

BTW, if anyone was wondering where the name for this map came from, I think I know; from the Normandy campaign Medal of Honor recipient PFC Charles N. DeGlopper from the 82nd Airborne. Assuming this is right, you can read about his citation (plus lots of other 82nd Airborne in WWII info) on the History page (http://www.82ndallamericans.com/history/history.htm) of the =A82A= 82nd All Americans clan site.

Centurion, hope you don't mind this minor thread digression.

Hey WhataMack, thanks for your post. You're only the 2nd player to clue in to the name.

Charles DeGlopper saved his platoon by providing covering fire, despite numerous mortal wounds, when they were ambushed near the Merderet River on 9 June 1944.

Here's another link to info about him and his posthumous Medal of Honor:

Also my thanks to all for their posts on the mdl problems I was having. My pc was going ballistic recently so I reloaded everything from scratch including Valve. Low and behold..no flak16.mdl is in Hammer anymore..lol! I must have got it by d/l'g anvil.

We have an Army Reserve center named after him, here in Buffalo.
