Forcing shadows

If a prop doesn't have a shadow and you want it to have one, can you force it to? Perhaps with the prop override? I have a tree that doesn't cast a shadow and it would be nice if it did. I'm going to guess that it needs to be recompiled?

I remember hearing somewhere that prop_static's don't have shadows, so if that's the case change the model to a prop_dynamic or a prop_physics and disable motion.

Yep I should've tried that first before I cried for help, as you're right...that works!. Cheers.

Prop_Dynamic's cast texture pased shadows just like player models, Prop_Static's cast raytraced lightmap shadws like world geometry, you can get higher detail raytraced lightmap shadows by lowering the lightmap scale of the faces that you wan tto recieve the high detail shadows, this s good for things like fences and interior details
