[Model] C96 Broomhandle

Since I got on the boards, I've learned a lot about model hacking. I finally have enough knowledge under my belt to have complete my first model tweaking.

I converted the Counter Strike C96 Broomhandle made by Flakk and friends into a Luger replacement for DoD. For the most part, it's great! The animations aren't incredibly smooth, but that doesn't bother me too much. What does bother me is that it's in the left hand. In Milkshape it's a left handed model and shows up left handed in DoD. However, in a game of CS it shows up as a regular left handed model. Can someone help me with that?

Here's a screenshot:

And here's the C96 file for download:

I'm looking for suggestions, tips, and help. If someone wants to take the model and tweak with it even more, be my guest, just post the model after you're done with it so we can see it. Thanks for your time.

Theres a "mirror" function somewhere in Milkshape. I can't remember where exactly, my Milkshape expired and won't let me re-register so I cant look it up. It should flip it from left to right, putting the model on the right side. Then all you have to do is put DoD hands on it. That bits a nightmare, I've been trying for 6 months to get DoD hands on the CZ skeleton, but have failed.

Well, I mirrored it, but it is all screwd up and twisted looking.

theres also some texture misalignment on that, the black lines showcase it. and you're only supposed to model the ref file, the rest use a program. i forget the name.

btw animations are by me and quad, nice to see these are still around.
another btw, cz arms aren't allowed in anything but cz as i understand it.

Mike, you all did an excellent job on the Mauser. I mean it's stunning. I use it as my Desert Eagle on CS.

I got Milkshape to mirror correctly and so now it is a right handed mdoel, but the animations don't work at all. Oh, well. Atleast I just have the skin.

all i did was make the fire animations and tweak quad's reload and draw a bit. :]

I've been looking for a good Luger replacement for some time now, and I think my quest is over. It looks excellent.

My only complaint is that since I mirrored it to the right handed side, the animations don't work. Either way, it's an awsome looking piece.

and to think that when I requested this in... 2004, I was told that it couldn't be done. :D

i'd look a lot better if you put dod arms on it, but since the fingers are so weird (short + stubby) odds are i'd end up looking funny.

Yeah, I tried this and it did look funny. I couldn't get it to look right, but then again I am a novice model hacker, so I could be doing something wrong. I also made a Broomhandle replacement for the Colt, too. I'll update this entire thread later tonight and post the files for both pistols.
