Map Request dod_simpsons for source

I checked the user list and couldn't find "Soup", the origanal maker of dod_simpsons. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a hold of him or if he was still making maps. I thought dod_simpsons was a fun map and would love to add it to my source server. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

have you checked the maps text file for contact information?

After some further searching I found out this map was origanly a cs map just coverted for dod. I tried all the links included with the map in the text files, but they are all now dead. :(

I thought everyone knew it was just converted to DoD.
Maybe someone should remake it... If only I werenīt this lazy. :D

Working on some other ports atm, like getting HDR into my port of de_tides and de_inferno but I'll give it a look and post back the result as a DM, if you can let me know where to put flags that should be easy enough to do

Sounds sweet...but if you wanna do it all creative strategic flag placing should be your own creation so you can brag ;)

Literally just converted spawns to dod ones and no flags, use the link cheese sarnie provided (http://www.fpsbanana.com/?section=viewitem.maps.maps.dl.10122) for the rest of the stuff, tbh its a bit small to stand flags as its an awp map but I guess some ppl will like it.... Happy New Year!

just looked at it, the dod one was a lot better.

that's like a tiny map, with 2 houses.
the dod one was huge.

hey colster which css version of this map did you port? The one that is the closest to the origanal dod_simpsons for 1.3 was de_simpsons_css. according to dart's post it sounds like we ended up with a different version. Thanks for the effort. I'm going to try out the version you left us right now.

Hmm just tested the map and the textures are missing. Everything is covered with that purple checkerboard. And dart was right this was a different cs version you ported. Instead of just two buildings the old dod_simpsons had a large map with many buildings a monorail nuke plant and such. Can anyone port the css soure map de_simpsons_css and add flags to it? I would do it myself but have no idea how to. Or if anyone knows of a tutorial of how to do it that would be great too. thanks.

I didnt pack up all the textures too, they were in the cs link, you then replace the bsp and res file with the ones i provided.

I'm working today on porting dod_sturm but I would be quite happy to have a go at porting the other one, I'll download de_simpsons_css and have a look.

I went ahead and downloaded de_simpsons_css to try to convert it. It actually came with a .vmf which was kinda odd. So i opened it up in hammer and noticed that itīs got some very weird stuff going on in it. For example the skybox seemīs to be invalid.
So Iīve worked through most of the problems right now and it shouldnīt take too long before I can get it to work...
