Just curious what you guys think of this, I got to thinking and decided I was going to try to do a photo-realistic hand skin, so I took a picture of my hand and did a quick test. Mind you there's no shading on this yet or anything.

Cool. Then you can make a dirtied version :D

So far it matches up and looks pretty good. Main thing is checking it out ingame. Even though HLMV is close to ingame, playing with it and seeing if it bothers your eyes or not. Once it's all done with shading added, might work out nice.

Lookin good dillinger, make sure to shade and darken them well otherwise I think they will look a little too bright/contrasting in game. Other than that bit of advice, kameradschaft gives it two 'bullets' of approval:)

ps-to make em bloodied and cut up grab some fake blood leftover from holloween from your local wal-mart:p

No offense, but why do you keep using 'African American'. Why dont you just say 'black' or 'African'?

because i nearly got jumped for reffering to a black person as....well......"black"

So now i just call them what they want, even though "black" is not offensive at all, i get called white all the time.

That regular hand texture is not African American, it's just in sharp contrast to the clarity of my hand.

That hand texture is my dirtied up hand that by itself does not look black/brown but looks proper, it just looks strange when contrasted by my ultra white hand :)

And yes, I will do the proper shading and such, just right now this was a test and I didn't shade it yet or anything.

That looks real nice so far. So, why dont you use a 512 skin instead of a small 256 one.

But try having a litter dirt in it. Play in a dirt pit for awhile and make sure u get em under the finger nails. A little blood couldn't hurt. Try killing one of ur friends or if u don'y have any, ur pet dog will do. Slit their bodies open and mess around with their guts. The effect would be good....:)

I accept proudly...........I got the class clown award in grade 8 to..........that was like the best day in my life, and me and my buddy also got best hall monitor award, because we would go bent hussly on anyone who walked in without a pass..........sorry that was off topic.

It honestly doesnt seem to be THAT white, it looks normal.

Once again I'm going to say that this is JUST A TEST. I just threw it on there without shading it or anything.

Don't worry, all proper lighting adjustments will be made.

Here's an updated picture. I got the fingers, back of hand, and palm all finished up. Just need to work on the thumb and work on blending certain parts together.
