Lately I am seeing more and more new maps when I refresh the server list but they are not listed here and downloading them from the servers is an hour long affair. Anyone reccomend a good site for finding new maps?

Thats odd, whenever i download amap from a server it takes 1-2 minutes tops . . .

Also, keep in mind that there *are* other dod/mapping forums other than the Official DOD Forums where people release their maps. That could also be another reason why you see new maps in the server list, but (nearly) none of them are released here.

Another possibility is that the mapmaker is testing them on a server, then people download it, find that they like it, then upload it to their servers, and so on.

I suggest you look for servers advertising "Fast Downloads" or "FastDL". The map download times from these severs is considerably shorter, ie minutes. You will know if they actually use http downloads if the files end in .bz2. Some servers lie about using it which is annoying.

Sorry I should have specified that besides the release forum on this site where can I get maps. Is there an option in game to set my connection speed, maybe its not set right.
