There was talk of those pine trees earllier. How the heck do you get these trees to show up in DoD?

There's a .vmt, .vtx, .phy, .wd, .vtf and a .mdl...I tried just dropping the .mdl's in but they don't show up.

Make the pine tree a 'prop_dynamic'. I had the same problem. not sure why?

You mean just by sticking these .mdl's in the model directory? If so, that didn't work...

I'm actually talking about these trees:

hi
models in source are a lot more complicated than hl1.
there are usually 6 model files mdl phy vtx etc. they go in the models directory.
then there are the texture files for the model normally 2 of 'em:
the vtf and vmt files which go in the materials folder.

depending on who made the model they may be in their own directory within the models and materials folders.

eg dod/models/mymodels/

same for the textures

eg dod/materials/models/mymodels

you need to keep the same file path or the models won't show up in hammer or in game.

when you install the models you need to get them in the correct directories, don't make your own sub folders.
hope that helps :)
