A different breed of dod:s map...

I know the game is based on WWII, but I am going to start making a map that isn't just houses and hay bales and mortars. I'm going to start mapping when I get back from Christmas. This is not a request for others to map, but rather some insight into a different style map. If these maps exist for dod:source, (i know they do for cs for example) please chime in, or if you have a different idea please do so as well!
1. Blood Gulch
2. Resident Evil 2 Police Station
3. Super Mario 64 Castle
4. Insert yours here!
I"m just looking for a new dynamic for dod: source. I love the weapons and flag cap and not waiting a whole round to respawn. Please feel free to give your 2 cents.
I'm obviously not going to just jump in and tackle these all at once. I'll just choose one based on popularity.
And yes, I do have experience with mapping, as I've made a variety of maps while in college...the best of which a map based on my college campus (SUNY Brockport if you must know)

I do believe that the Blood Gultch map in DODS already exists. As well as the Battlecreek map from Halo.
There's quite a few of those "alternative" maps that are readily available. You just have to look out for them. Most of the maps released here are the "traditional" type. Towns, flag caps, etc. Not what you're looking for. Why? Because they're commonly looked down upon here (for some reason).
Here are some maps that I do believe are "alternative" (taken from the DODS map name reference DB:
wall-mart
dod_battlecreek (halo)
dod_crossfire (halo)
dod_risk
dod_giza (i think..)
dod_hl2dm_overwatch (HL2DM)
dod_icecaverns (CSS)
dod_poolday (CSS)
dod_water_closet (CSS) "rats"-style map

If you haven't tried it already, I'd recommend you try dod_risk (currently at b7). It's still a flag-capper, but it's EXTREMELY unique. Go here to see it:

Hey I love "different" maps. In my opinnion they just bring something more to the game. Donīt get me wrong I love well done realistic maps, but something very weird and different is really fun once in a while.

Well, I started work on my map dod_peachcastle (from mario 64). I found a map of the castle from cs...but it would be more work trying to save that map and get permission from the creator than to just make up my own.
So far I have the frame for the front of the castle almost done, the right side of the courtyard is just about done as well. I wish I had more time to work on it, I've only had a chance to put a few hours in.
I'll post some screenies when I get the chance.
