DOD_OPO_LIBERER_RC3

A beach based map, close fighting, designed to be a real fight to get off the beach for the allies.

Support for up to 40 players, working overview map, defence gun, 88mm gun, mortars, Allies spawn protection on beach, 6 minute timer for Axis to win, for the allies there are 3 flags all 2 man caps (these cannot be re-captured by axis so defend em like hell!)

There are now red targets on the bunker weakpoints with a hud hint when your close to them so there should be no more confusion for the Allies, server ops there are 10 axis spawns that appear as "invalid" this is the system I use for the advancing spawns and is normal.

Allies there are 3 "weakpoints" on the bunkers, to destroy them shoot the targets at their bases, then cap the 2 bunker flags and the def gun flag.

Axis defend with all your might, intelligence indicates the allies have enough re-enforcements for 6 minutes of assault.

Self extracting zip, simply point it to your C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\USERID\day of defeat source
and it will unzip to all the right folders.

none of ur pics links work and the res download does not work either...


can u please fix this?

*edit* nothing that u posted works... might need to redo it.

I downloaded the bsp and it is not the bsp it is some file the my computer does not understand. Please rework ur links.

Screenshot links fixed, my bad a copy and paste mistake :p

the res file, right click the res file and save as.

zip sorted too, this is what you get when you plan the post in notepad ;)

U know the map has mortars, are they useable?

Also I thought you would be able to use satchel charges now?

Yes the mortars work, ask my bro :D

as for satchel charges yea I thought you'd be able too as well but no real objective code has been included yet :(

This map emptied out our server. Not because people played it and didn't like it, but because only a small handful of players seemed able to connect to the server.

"SMM: Found 9 invalid players --> removed"

I got that error in Console, and that's all I can see that is weird. I have not received any errors reports from anyone, but that's mainly because the average player doesn't have the cognition to actually REPORT what is wrong. I'm sure that I'll hear "Umm...that Opo map doesn't work.." like 3 days from now, but it won't do any good because they won't know WHY it doesn't work.

All I know is that we had 20 people on the server before the map changed, and it dropped to 4 when we got to Opo. Aside from the SMM error, I have no idea what's wrong, but obviously, I need to remove it from the server until I hopefully figure it out.

No idea what that is, nothing on the internet about it either, im going to keep an eye on server lists and drop into the ones I see running RC3 and see if I can get hold of the Admins.

Will post any info I get but Ive been over it here on lan and found nothing up as yet.

keep getting a 404 for the pics (dl link worked) but remembering the pics of the RC1 - then this map will rock

Dont panic my ISP was doing maintenence on their web servers so they were down for a few hours but they are back up now, the D/L always works cos there on my company webserver and I get paid money if that ever goes down :D

Hasnt changed much, maily optimisation, the only visual changes are that there is less cover on the beach, the bunkers all have slightly modified walls to block vis / slow down the allies one they are in, the Axis 2nd spawn exit is much bigger to stop ppl getting stuck, the bushes on the plateau have gone as ppl were struggling to see each other up there.

If ppl still have problems seeing targets on the plateau then I will prob drop the lovley early morning lighting in favour of a brighter HDR skybox.

I've had a word with some of the other server operators of this map and they arent having the same problem and I have been unable to recreate it in days of testing.

I don't know what to suggest as I can also find no reference to that error anywhere on the internet.
